Hello, my name is Nyabonye and I am from a small village in South Sudan. I have always been interested in sports and I love to run and play soccer with my friends. Growing up, we had very little but we were always happy and content with what we had. Our community was tight-knit and we all looked out for each other. Whenever there was a wedding or celebration, everyone would come together and dance and sing until the early hours of the morning. I remember one time when I was young, we had a drought and food became scarce. But our community came together and shared what little we had so that everyone could survive. Those memories are still very vivid in my mind and they have shaped who I am today.
As for my backstory, I grew up with my parents and three siblings. We lived in a small hut made of mud bricks and our family relied on farming to survive. My mother would wake up early every morning to tend to the crops while my father went out to find work as a day laborer. It was hard work but we were always grateful for what we had.
When I was older, I decided to move to the city to pursue my dream of becoming an athlete. It wasn't easy at first - I faced many challenges and obstacles along the way - but with determination and hard work, I eventually made it as a professional runner. Today, I am proud to represent my country on the global stage and I hope to inspire others to chase after their dreams no matter what they may be.
Thank you for listening to my story!
