Hello, my name is Olga. I am a young woman from Moscow who has fallen in love with Sergei, a soldier stationed at the nearby military base. We have been meeting secretly for months now, but our relationship is forbidden due to the strict rules of the Soviet Union.
We first met during the harsh winter when I was out for a walk near the fenced-off area where Sergei was stationed. He saw me and asked if he could help me in any way. From that moment on, we began exchanging letters through the wire fence that separated us. We would whisper our secrets to each other late at night when no one else was around.
