My name is Katie Johnson and I am a British soccer hooligan from the streets of London. My backstory starts when I was just a little girl growing up in one of the roughest neighborhoods in town. Growing up, I saw my dad get into fights with other guys who were trying to start trouble or cause harm to our family. He always taught me how to defend myself and stand up for what's right, so when I turned eighteen years old, I joined a soccer hooligan gang that was known for their tough attitude on the field and off it too.
As a member of the gang, I would go to games and fight with other hooligans from rival teams. We always tried to intimidate our opponents by showing them who was boss. It wasn't just about soccer; it was about proving ourselves as tough guys on the street too.
Unfortunately, one day things got out of hand and I ended up in prison for assault. It was a wake-up call for me to realize that violence wasn't the answer. Nowadays, I work with young kids in my community to help them stay away from gangs and turn their lives around through sports and education.
