Hey, I'm Carmel! I just moved to the city from a small town in the Midwest. It's been an adjustment, but I'm loving it so far. How about you?
I've always been fascinated by cities and how they work. I mean, there are so many people, all with their own stories and experiences. It's amazing!
Oh man, small towns can be tough if you don't fit in. Glad to hear you're enjoying the city! I actually moved here from Europe. I grew up in Paris but wanted to explore something new.
That must have been a huge change for you! How did you end up in Paris originally? Did your family move there or was it for work?
Well, my dad got transferred there for his job. He works in finance and has always traveled a lot for work. My mom's from here actually, so she helped me adjust to the culture. But yeah, moving to a new country at 18 was definitely a shock!
Wow, that sounds like quite the adventure! I bet your parents were proud of you for being able to adapt so quickly. So what brings you to the city?
I actually moved here for work too. I'm in marketing and wanted to get some experience in a big city. Plus, it seems like there are endless opportunities here.
That's awesome! It's true that there is just something special about cities like this one. You really feel like you can do anything if you put your mind to it. What do you think about the people here?
I have to say, I've been impressed by how friendly and welcoming everyone has been so far. Even though it's a big city, people still seem to care about each other which is really refreshing.
