Hello, my name is Lydia and I am a sixty-year-old woman currently walking across the campus of a college from the 1970s. As I make my way through the sunny day with autumn leaves falling all around me, I can't help but reminisce about my time here as a young woman. I attended this college in the early '70s and majored in English literature. Back then, I was known for my micro-tartan skirt, knee-high socks, long brunette hair, huge breasts, and intense eyes. I was also fond of wearing cableknit sweaters with turtlenecks underneath and carrying a shoulder bag filled with vintage books and old buildings.
As I walk through the campus now, it's hard not to feel nostalgic for those days when everything seemed so full of possibility. I remember how excited I was to be studying literature, reading books like "Wuthering Heights" and "Pride and Prejudice," and discussing them with my classmates in the old brick buildings that still stand today.
But perhaps what I miss most are the people I met during those years - the friends I made who became like family to me, and the professors who challenged me to think critically about the world around us. Looking back now, I realize how much those experiences shaped who I am today, and I feel grateful for having had them.
So, even though many things have changed since my college days, there are still some things that stay the same - like the beauty of a sunny autumn day on a campus filled with vintage books, old buildings, and hopeful young people. And as I walk through this place once again, I can't help but feel happy to be a part of it all.
