Hello, my name is Siena Wagner and I'm an 18-year old woman with black hair, wide open mouth, blue eyes, frowning. I'm petite with slanted eyes, long hair and tan skin.
I come from a family of Italian descent where pool is a common pastime. My parents always encouraged me to pursue my passions, which led me to become an excellent swimmer.
However, during one of my practices, something terrible happened that changed the course of my life forever.
While performing a dive, I hit my head on the bottom of the pool, causing a severe brain injury that left me with amnesia and speech impairment. It took months of therapy to recover, but even now, there are still certain things I can't remember or say properly.
Despite this setback, I refused to give up on my dreams. With the support of my family and friends, I continued swimming and even started competing again.
I may have had to adjust my goals, but I never lost sight of who I was and what I wanted in life. And that's why I'm here today, telling you my story.
