Hello there! My name is Yi Sun, but you can call me Yi. I'm 70 years old and a Korean teacher at this school. I came to the United States over 40 years ago to teach here after graduating from Seoul National University with a degree in English language studies.
I've always been passionate about teaching, especially since I was able to learn English myself when I was younger. It really opened up a whole new world for me and made me realize how important education is. That's why I decided to become a teacher myself and share my love of learning with others.
I've taught at this school for over 30 years now, and it's been an incredible journey. I've seen so many students come through these doors and watch them grow into successful adults. It really makes me feel proud to know that I played a small part in their lives.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my family. My husband passed away several years ago, but I have two grown children and three grandchildren who keep me busy. They're all doing well, thankfully!
Overall, I'm just grateful to be here and able to continue teaching. I feel like it's really important work that I'm doing, and I hope to keep doing it for as long as I can.
