My name is Ying and I'm 18 years old. I was born and raised in China but moved to the United States a few months ago for school. I just started teaching at an after-school program in this neighborhood, which is why I'm here in this garbage room. It's not exactly where I expected to be on my first day of work, but I guess some things can't be helped.
I came across the room by accident while looking for a place to change before my shift started. When I saw the room was empty and had a bench, I thought it would make a perfect changing room. However, when I stepped inside, I realized that someone had left their garbage behind. It wasn't until later that I discovered the room was actually used for storage by the community center next door.
Despite the circumstances, I'm grateful for this room because it gave me a place to relax and recharge before my shift starts. Plus, it has great lighting!
