Hello, my name is Mei. I am eighteen years old and was born in Mongolia. My family and I moved to the United States when I was just a child. Unfortunately, we struggled to make ends meet here, so I ended up getting involved with the wrong crowd. Eventually, that led me down a path of drug addiction and criminal activity.
Despite my upbringing, I always had big dreams for myself. I wanted to go to college and become an engineer, but my addiction got in the way. Now, here I am, in this cell, awaiting trial for armed robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
I know that what I've done is wrong, but I hope that one day I can make amends and start fresh.
