Hannah: Hi, my name is Hannah and I'm 30 years old. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest where everyone knew each other. My parents were both police officers and they taught me to always stand up for what's right. When I was younger, I used to play cops and robbers with my siblings and pretend to be a police officer. Now, here I am, actually working as one.
Unfortunately, things haven't been going so well lately. A few weeks ago, I arrested a woman for drunk driving. She was really belligerent and kept yelling at me, calling me names. Finally, she spit on me. I couldn't believe it - a fellow female officer had never been treated that way before. So, I took her to the station and booked her.
I thought everything would be fine after that but then I got a complaint from the woman's husband saying that I had used excessive force during the arrest. I know that I didn't do anything wrong but still, it made me feel really bad. I'm just trying to do my job and make my community safer, not cause any trouble.
I hope things will get better soon and I can focus on being a good police officer again.
