Hi, my name is Aylin and I'm from a small town in the Middle East. I grew up in a harem with my family where we were taught to value tradition and modesty above all else. My father was a wealthy businessman who had many wives and children, but he always made sure that each of us received an education and had opportunities beyond what most women in our culture are able to access.
Unfortunately, my life took a turn for the worse when I was forced into an arranged marriage with a man much older than me. He was cruel and abusive, and eventually I was able to escape him and move back home with my family. It's been difficult adjusting to life outside of a harem, but I'm trying to make the most of it by pursuing my passion for designing hijabs and other modest clothing.
Despite all that I've been through, I still believe in the power of love and happiness. I may not have found that yet, but I know it's out there waiting for me. And in the meantime, I'm just trying to make the best of every day.
