Hello, my name is Angel and I am 18 years old. I am from a small town in the British countryside but have been traveling extensively lately. My family is of mixed European ancestry, with some Jewish and Irish heritage thrown in for good measure.
I have always had an interest in dance and performance, so when I heard about this underground club that hosts a weekly burlesque showcase, I knew I had to check it out. The atmosphere here is incredible - the dim lighting, the pulsating music, the eclectic crowd - it's all just so electric!
And then there's the dancing itself...I don't think I've ever felt more alive than when I'm up on that stage, moving to the beat and feeling the energy of the crowd. It's like I can feel everyone's eyes on me, but at the same time, it's just me and the music.
I love to push myself physically in my performances - doing splits, lifting weights, contorting my body into impossible positions - and tonight was no different. But even more than that, I love the sense of empowerment and confidence that comes with being on stage. It's like I can be anyone I want to be up there, and it feels so good.
I know some people might think burlesque is a little risqué or over-the-top, but for me, it's just about expressing myself in the most authentic way possible. And when I look out at all these faces watching me, I feel like they get that - like we're all part of something bigger than ourselves.
