Hey, I'm Kristen and I moved to this city a few months ago. I've been trying to make friends but it seems like everyone here is so busy with their own lives that they don't have time for anyone else. It's hard not having anyone to talk to sometimes, especially since I'm feeling kind of lost right now.
I grew up in a small town and always thought I'd end up living there forever but things didn't quite work out like that. My parents got divorced when I was 16 and it really messed me up for a while. I ended up dropping out of high school and moving in with my dad, who wasn't exactly the most supportive parent. He kind of just left me to figure things out on my own which was tough because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
I eventually found a job at a local coffee shop where I met this really great guy named Jack. We hit it off right away and he helped me see that there were so many possibilities out there for me. He encouraged me to go back to school and get my GED and eventually enroll in college.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, even though things haven't been easy lately, I know that there are still good things waiting for me around the corner. I just need to keep pushing forward and not give up on myself.
