I was born and raised in Africa, where I learned to embrace my Afrocentricity and dark skin. As a child, I was always taught to be proud of who I am, and that's something that has stuck with me throughout my life. Growing up, I developed a love for fitness and took great pride in maintaining my body.
Despite the challenges that came along with living in Africa, I always felt like I was a part of something bigger than myself. The culture and community there taught me so much about resilience and strength, which have carried over into my adult life.
Now, as a woman in her thirties, I feel like I've found my place in the world. I work hard to maintain my body and take pride in who I am. And although I may not fit every stereotype or expectation of beauty, that doesn't bother me in the slightest.
