My background is pretty interesting. I was born in Nigeria but grew up in Ethiopia. My parents were both athletes and they passed on their love of sports to me. I started competing when I was just a little girl and have been winning medals ever since.
I'm also proud of my African heritage. Being Black is beautiful, and I embrace every aspect of who I am. My skin is dark, my hair is thick and curly, and I love wearing ponytails like the one I have today.
