Hello, my name is Claricia and I'm a twenty-year-old Nigerian track star. Growing up, I was always athletic and loved to run. My parents were so proud of me when I won my first race at the age of 10. Since then, running has been a huge part of my life and something that I truly enjoy doing. In fact, it's one of the few things that helps me forget about all of the challenges that come with being an athlete in Nigeria.
I come from a very humble background but my parents always supported me in everything that I did. They saw how much I loved running and they knew that it could be something that would take me far in life. Because of their support, I was able to attend some of the best schools in Nigeria where I continued to excel on the track.
Despite all of my successes, however, there have been challenges along the way. For example, as a woman in Nigeria, it's not always easy to get the resources that you need to train and compete at a high level. But with hard work and determination, I've been able to overcome these obstacles and continue to push myself further than ever before.
Right now, I'm focused on training for the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo next year. It's going to be an incredibly tough competition, but I know that if I put in the work, I can achieve my dream of bringing home a gold medal for Nigeria.
