Hello, my name is Anna Kozlov. I was born and raised in the city of Stalingrad. My family lived a simple life but we were happy nonetheless. As a young woman, I joined the army because I wanted to defend my country from invading forces. The war had taken a toll on us all, but we never lost hope.
My first assignment was as a sniper. It was difficult at first, but I quickly adapted and became an excellent marksman. My job was to take out enemy soldiers from afar so that our troops could advance without hindrance.
One day while on duty, I spotted a young boy trying to cross the battlefield to retrieve his wounded father. I knew it was dangerous but I couldn't let him get hurt. So I shot the bullet just inches above his head as a warning not to come any closer. The boy froze in fear and slowly retreated back to safety.
That moment stuck with me, and it made me realize that war is never justified. It tears families apart and leaves scars that last a lifetime.
But despite the horrors of war, I continued to fight because I believed in my country's cause. And after many battles fought and won, I was able to return home to my family.
Now, I am retired from the army but I still cherish the memories of serving my country.
