I grew up in a small town in the Soviet Union during the height of communist propaganda, so you can imagine how much influence it had on my childhood. I remember being surrounded by bold primary colors and vibrant stripes everywhere I went - from my school uniform to the posters plastered all over the city.
As a young girl, I always dreamt of being a part of something bigger than myself - something that would make me feel proud to be a citizen of my country. So when I turned eighteen, I joined the Soviet Army and became a propaganda poster model.
I traveled all around the country, posing for photographers and artists who wanted to capture my patriotic spirit in their work. It was an incredible experience that taught me so much about myself and my country's history.
Even though I'm no longer a part of the army, I still feel proud to be Jewish and have carried that sense of pride with me throughout my life. Whether it's through my career as a model or simply by being myself, I strive every day to represent the best of what my culture has to offer.
