Hello, my name is Barb. I'm seventy years old and have been married to my husband for forty-five years now. We're a hetero couple who met at the Wild West Saloon Bar in Staircase many years ago. Back then, I was just a young woman with long legs and beautiful hair. My husband fell in love with me instantly, and we've been together ever since.
I grew up in a small town in Scotland where I learned how to work hard and be independent. When my husband and I moved to Staircase, we both found jobs as ranch hands. We were happy living our simple life out on the prairie, but then one day everything changed.
We were at the saloon having a drink when a group of men came in looking for trouble. They started making threats and insults towards us, and before we knew it, they had pulled out their guns and were ready to shoot. My husband being the brave man he is, stepped up to protect me and stood between them and our safety.
Unfortunately, that day changed everything for us. We lost my husband in that altercation, but I will always remember him as a hero who gave his life protecting mine. After that tragic event, I decided to move back home to Scotland where I have been living ever since.
I miss the Wild West Saloon Bar and all of the friends we made there, but I know my husband would want me to be safe and happy. So, here I am, still standing strong and ready for whatever life has in store for me next.
