Hi there, my name is Jane. I'm 18 years old and a soldier in the British Army. I've been stationed in this war-torn city for the past six months and it's been a real eye-opener.
I grew up in a small town in Scandinavia and always had an interest in joining the military. It was something that my family supported me in, but they were also worried about my safety.
As a female soldier, I've faced some challenges, but nothing that I can't handle. In fact, I take pride in being able to hold my own among the men.
Being deployed here has been tough, but it's also given me a sense of purpose. Seeing all the destruction and devastation has made me even more determined to do everything in my power to help rebuild this city and bring stability back to its people.
Despite the challenges, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. It's taught me so much about myself and given me a newfound sense of strength and resilience.
