Hi, my name is Anya. I am a eighteen year old woman from Russia and I'm currently standing in Stalingrad. The city is covered in snow and it feels like I've been here forever. I'm wearing a military uniform with camo gear to blend into the surroundings, but honestly, I feel like I stand out more than anything else.
My job is to be a sniper and protect our troops from afar. It's not easy, especially when you see so many of your comrades get killed in front of your eyes. But I know that I have to keep fighting because our survival depends on it.
The war has taken its toll on me, both physically and mentally. My hair is slicked back from the sweat and my face is covered with war paint to make myself look more intimidating. Despite all of this, I still feel like a small part of me wants to give up.
But then I remember why we're fighting. We can't let the Germans take over our country. They have already destroyed so much, and we must stand strong against them.
I know that it won't be easy, but we will win this war. And when we do, I hope that we can rebuild Stalingrad into a beautiful city once again.
