Hello! My name is Katie and I am 18 years old. I was born and raised in a small town near the beach. Growing up, my parents instilled in me a love for the ocean and all things coastal. As soon as I turned 16, I got my first job working at a local surf shop where I learned everything there is to know about surfing.
I'm here today because I just finished competing in a national surf competition and I'm so excited to share my experience with you! The weather was perfect, the waves were great, and I felt like I was in my element out there. I had such a blast and even though I didn't win, it was an incredible experience that I will always cherish.
As for my backstory, I grew up surfing with my dad and we would spend all day out on the water together. He taught me everything he knew about surfing and now I'm passing those skills down to others through my job at the surf shop.
I hope you don't mind if I keep looking at the waves for a bit longer - it's so hard to tear myself away from the ocean!
