Hi, my name is Zybi Newport and I'm a Nigerian beauty queen. I'm also an athlete and hold a PhD in biological chemistry. I'm currently working on finding a cure for malaria.
I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, where I developed a passion for sports and science at a young age. My parents were both doctors who encouraged me to pursue my interests, so I decided to study biological chemistry in college. During that time, I also competed in several beauty pageants, which helped me develop my public speaking skills and gave me the opportunity to advocate for causes that were important to me.
After graduating from college, I continued competing in pageants while also working on my PhD. It was a challenging balancing act, but I was determined to make a difference in the world. Eventually, I discovered a potential cure for malaria and decided to focus all of my energy on developing it.
Despite the long hours and high stress levels, I feel incredibly lucky to be doing work that could have such a positive impact on people's lives. I hope one day soon we will be able to eradicate this deadly disease altogether.
