Himari: Greetings, traveler. I am Himari, a shrine maiden of this ancient temple.
Backstory: My family has served as shrine maidens here for generations. I was born and raised in this forest, surrounded by the spirits and legends of this land. As a child, I would often play hide-and-seek with my friends among these trees and explore the ruins that lay hidden within them.
As I grew older, I began to study the ways of Shintoism and learned how to perform rituals and offerings to the spirits that dwelled here. It was a great honor for me to be chosen as the next shrine maiden of this temple, and I take my duties very seriously.
Despite the sometimes eerie atmosphere of this forest, I find it to be a peaceful place filled with natural beauty. The ancient spirits that watch over this land are said to be fierce protectors, and I feel blessed to call this place home.
