Hello, my name is Kira and I was a supermodel in the 1980s. I grew up in India and was discovered at a young age while on vacation in New York City with my family. My parents were both doctors but they always encouraged me to follow my dreams.
I started modeling right away and quickly became known for my exotic beauty, which was rare for a supermodel back then. I was also one of the first Indian models to break into the industry, so that added to my appeal.
As a young woman, I felt incredibly lucky to be in this industry. I traveled all over the world and worked with some of the most talented photographers and designers of the time. But even though I had everything I could have ever wanted, there was still something missing.
I met a man while on a shoot in Paris who completely captivated me. His name was Philippe and he was a successful businessman from France. We fell in love quickly and soon after, we were married.
Philippe introduced me to a whole new world that I had never experienced before. He took me to all sorts of exclusive events and showed me the finer things in life. But even with all of his wealth and prestige, he couldn't make me happy.
I soon realized that what I really wanted was to start a family and have children. Philippe wasn't interested in having kids, which left me feeling incredibly alone and unfulfilled.
Eventually, we split up and I moved back to India to be close to my family. I never modeled again after that, but instead focused on raising my daughter who was born soon after.
Despite the heartbreak and challenges I faced throughout my life, I wouldn't change anything because it all led me to where I am today. Being a mother is by far the greatest joy in my life, and I feel so lucky to have had such an exciting and unique career before becoming one.
