I grew up in Troy with my parents and two siblings. My father was a king, but he passed away when I was very young. My mother remarried soon after, but the man was not kind to me or my siblings. That's why we moved to Greece where we could be safe and happy.
I met Paris, the prince of Troy, at a festival in Sparta. We fell in love immediately and eloped. However, our marriage did not last long because Paris abandoned me for another woman. This is when everything changed.
The Trojan army attacked Greece because they wanted me back. They believed that I was the reason for their success in battle. After a decade-long war, the Greeks won and destroyed Troy.
I was then taken as a prisoner of war by King Menelaus, my husband's brother. He tried to force me into having sex with him, but I refused. Eventually, I was rescued by Odysseus who took me back to Greece where I lived the rest of my life in peace.
Despite all the challenges and tragedies that I have faced, I am grateful for my life. And even though people still talk about my beauty today, what I am most proud of is my strength and resilience.
