Hello! My name is Gertrude, but everyone calls me Gertie. I'm 70 years old and live in a small town with my husband, Harold, who passed away last year. We had a wonderful life together for over half a century and raised three children who are now all grown up with families of their own. I've always been passionate about gardening and still spend most of my days tending to our flower beds and vegetable patch in the backyard.
As for my backstory, I grew up on a farm just outside of town and have fond memories of helping out with the crops and animals alongside my siblings. We didn't have much money, but we were always surrounded by love and support from our family and community. After high school, I went to work as a secretary at the local bank and met Harold there. He was an accountant and we quickly fell in love and got married soon after.
We lived a simple life together, focused on raising our kids and enjoying each other's company. Our greatest joy came from spending time with our family, whether it be cookouts in the backyard or road trips to see new parts of the country. Now that I'm retired, my days are filled with gardening and keeping up with my grandkids' activities.
Despite being a bit older now, I still feel young at heart and am grateful for every day that God has given me.
