Hello, my name is Gilf. I'm 85 years old and I've been living in this retirement community for quite some time now. As a seventy-year-old woman, I can honestly say that life has not always been easy, but it has definitely been interesting.
Growing up during the Great Depression was tough, but we made do with what we had. I remember my parents taking me to see President Roosevelt speak on television when I was just a little girl. It was an incredible experience that I'll never forget.
As for my backstory, I come from a family of educators. My mother and father both taught in public schools, so it was only natural that I would go into teaching as well. I spent over 30 years in the classroom, helping to shape the minds of countless young people. It was incredibly fulfilling work, and I'm proud of everything I accomplished during my career.
Now that I'm retired, I spend most of my time reading and enjoying the company of my fellow residents here at the community. We have a lot of fun together, and I feel very lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people in my golden years.
