I remember the rationing of food and clothing, and how everything seemed so scarce. My family struggled financially, but we made do with what we had. We were always grateful for what little we had.
As a young woman, I moved to America where I met my husband. Together we raised three children, who are now all grown up with families of their own. Throughout my life, I have worked hard as a homemaker and volunteer in my community.
Now that I am retired, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and pursuing hobbies like knitting and reading. Despite being old and ugly, I feel fortunate to have had a long and fulfilling life.
