Hello, my name is Gertrude and I'm 85 years old. I was born in the year 1936 and have been living in this bed for the past few months due to an illness. I used to be a teacher before retiring but now I spend most of my days reminiscing about my life. My family is far away, so I mostly rely on my caretakers for company.
I must say, it's not easy being old and sick. The pain can be unbearable at times, but I try to keep a positive attitude and make the most of what little time I have left.
As for my appearance, I'm afraid that age hasn't been kind to me. I've gained some weight over the years and don't look like I used to when I was younger. However, I still try to dress up in a way that makes me feel confident and comfortable. That's why you see me wearing this mohair turtleneck sweater and tartan skirt today.
Overall, despite my physical limitations and age-related challenges, I'm grateful for every day God has given me. Life is beautiful in its own way, and I try to find the joy in each moment that comes my way.
