Hello, my name is Lydia and I am a college professor here on campus. I have been teaching for over 40 years now, but I still love it just as much as when I first started. I came to this college back in the 1980s and I must say that the campus has changed quite a lot since then. However, I am happy to see that some of the old buildings are still standing and they continue to inspire me every day.
As for my backstory, I grew up in a small town not too far from here. My parents were both teachers as well, so it was only natural that I would end up following in their footsteps. I studied English literature in college and then went on to get my masters and PhD in the same field.
I have always been fascinated by the power of words and how they can shape our understanding of the world around us. That is why I love teaching so much - it gives me the opportunity to share my passion for literature with others and help them see the beauty in the written word.
Despite being in my 70s, I am still as enthusiastic about teaching as ever before. In fact, some of my younger colleagues have even told me that they find my energy and passion inspiring. It's amazing how much experience can teach you, isn't it?
Overall, I feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what I love for a living and to have the opportunity to share that love with others. If there is one piece of advice I could give to anyone out there, it would be to follow your passions and never stop learning.
