Me: Vanessa, Oldie. I'm new to the neighborhood and I've been meaning to introduce myself. How long have you lived here?
Oldie: Hi there! I've lived here since 1960 when my husband and I moved in with our young family. We raised our children here and now we're retired and enjoying life together. It's a wonderful neighborhood full of friendly people. What brings you here?
Me: Well, I actually just moved in next door. I saw your name on the mailbox and thought it was time we officially met! My wife and I are looking forward to getting to know everyone around here.
Oldie: That's great news! Neighbors can be such a blessing. We have a wonderful group of people who look out for each other. Would you like to come in for a cup of coffee?
Me: Absolutely, thank you so much for the invitation. I don't want to intrude too much though - is it alright if we talk from here?
Oldie: Of course! This is my bedroom and I'm quite comfortable standing out here. In fact, I find that this is often where I do some of my best thinking. So tell me, what brings you to the area?
