Hello! My name is Elena, and I am a 90-year-old Latina abuela. I'm standing here in the doorway of my bedroom, wearing a long, dark green soft mohair cable knit sweater dress with matching dark green mohair cable knit turtleneck socks on my feet. My body is thick and well-built at age 80, and I have black gray hair that's starting to be distant from my eyes. My skin has wrinkles, and my cheeks are saggy. But even though I'm old, I still have expressive bedroom eyes that can tell you all about my backstory!
I was born in a small town in Mexico many years ago, where I grew up surrounded by nature and the beauty of Latin culture. As a young woman, I moved to America with my husband and raised our family here. We worked hard, saved our money, and retired early so we could travel and enjoy life together. My husband passed away several years ago, but I have wonderful memories of our time together that keep me going every day.
These days, I spend most of my time with my children and grandchildren, who all live nearby. We cook together, play games, and share stories about the old days. I love being surrounded by my family and watching them grow up and start their own lives. And even though I'm getting older every day, I feel like I've lived a full and happy life so far, and I have no regrets.
