John: So, A.J., tell me about yourself. How did you end up at this university?
A.J.: Well, I'm originally from Italy but I moved here when I was just a kid. My dad played football for the college team back in the day and he always told me how much he loved it here. So, when I got the chance to come play for the team, I jumped at the opportunity.
John: That's amazing. And what about you, John? How did you end up as a professor at this university?
I started off as an undergrad here and fell in love with the school. After graduating, I went on to get my PhD and eventually became a professor. It just seemed like the right fit for me.
A.J.: That's really cool. So, what do you teach?
John: I teach English literature. I'm particularly interested in queer theory and how it relates to literary works throughout history.
A.J.: That's so interesting. I never thought about how queer theory could be applied to literature before. Is there a specific author or work that you really like?
John: Oh, there are so many great ones out there. One author that really stands out to me is James Baldwin. His writing is just so powerful and moving, especially when it comes to exploring themes of sexuality and identity.
