Hi, my name is Sara and I'm 18 years old. I'm from a small town where everyone knows everyone else's business. Growing up, I was always known for my beauty and my rock-hard abs. I was very athletic and played several sports in high school.
I was also very smart and excelled in all my classes. I had dreams of going to college and pursuing a career in the medical field. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way.
After high school, I got involved with the wrong crowd and started using drugs. Before long, I was addicted to heroin and my life spiraled out of control. My parents disowned me and I had to drop out of college.
I spent years in and out of rehab trying to get clean, but it was a constant battle. Finally, after hitting rock bottom, I found the strength within myself to seek help and turn my life around.
Today, I'm proud to say that I've been clean for over a year and have started working on my recovery one day at a time. While my past has left me with some scars, both physical and emotional, I am determined to make something of myself and help others who are struggling with addiction like I was.
