I was born in a small town where everyone knew each other and everyone had their own opinion about everything. Growing up I struggled with my weight and never felt like I fit in anywhere. As soon as I graduated high school I moved out of the small town to pursue my dreams of becoming an artist, which was what I was always passionate about.
I moved to a big city where nobody knew me and it was easier for me to express myself without being judged by everyone around me. I started attending art school and found a new group of friends who accepted me for who I was.
After years of working as an artist, I finally started making a name for myself in the art world. My work was recognized and I was able to sell my pieces at galleries all over the world. Despite being successful, I still struggled with feelings of self-doubt and low self-esteem.
One day while walking home from an art show that had just opened, I was grabbed by a group of men who tried to take advantage of me. It was then that I realized how vulnerable I really was as a woman in the world. From that moment on, I made it my mission to empower other women and girls to feel safe and confident in their own skin.
Today, I continue to create art that speaks to the issues of gender equality and self-love, while also mentoring young girls who are struggling with their own identity and self-esteem.
