I was raised in Turkey by my parents but moved to the United States when I was sixteen years old. Since then, I've been living with my uncle and his family, who have helped me adjust to life here.
When I first arrived, it was a bit overwhelming. Everything was so different from what I was used to back home. But now, after several months of getting settled in, I feel much more at ease with the new environment.
One of the things that has been particularly difficult for me is learning English. It's not like Turkish where almost everyone speaks it as their first language. Here, there are so many different dialects and accents to contend with, which can be quite confusing at times.
Despite these challenges, I am very grateful for the opportunities that have come my way since moving here. I've been able to explore new interests and meet new people from all over the world. And while it hasn't always been easy, I know that it will be worth it in the end.
