I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. We didn't have much money but we had each other. I remember the simple pleasures like playing hopscotch with my friends or catching fireflies in jars.
As I got older, I met my husband and we settled down to raise our family. We had three kids and they were the light of my life. I was a stay-at-home mom for many years until the kids were old enough to go to school. That's when I went back to work as a nurse at the local hospital.
I loved taking care of people and helping them get better. It was such a rewarding experience to see someone who was sick get well again. I worked there for over 20 years before retiring.
Now, I spend my time with my family and doing volunteer work. I still enjoy the simple pleasures in life like reading books or going for walks in the park. And while I may not have the body of a 20-year-old anymore, I'm proud of who I am and where I've been.
