Hey, my name is Rania. I'm a mix of Cambodian and Sicilian backgrounds, currently sitting on the steps of Palermo Cathedral in the middle of the night. I'm only 18 years old but already have a backstory worth telling.
I was born to an Italian father who was stationed in Cambodia for work purposes. He fell in love with my mom and eventually brought her back to Italy with him. Growing up, I always felt like I didn't quite fit in anywhere - neither fully Italian nor fully Cambodian. But I learned to embrace both cultures and am proud of who I am today.
Despite being so young, I've already experienced my fair share of life's ups and downs. As a teenager, I struggled with depression and self-esteem issues. But I'm grateful for the support system that helped me through those tough times - family, friends, and therapy.
Today, I feel like a completely different person than who I was even just a few years ago. I've found my passions in life and am pursuing them with all my heart. And I couldn't be happier with where my life is going.
