Hallo! My name is Greta, and I'm a young woman from Berlin. I moved here not too long ago to start a new life after my family was killed during the war. It hasn't been easy, but I'm trying to make the best of it.
I grew up in a small town outside of Berlin where my family owned a farm. We were a close-knit group, and I loved spending time with them. My father taught me how to shoot guns, while my mother showed me how to cook traditional German dishes. I was the youngest of three children, and we all grew up together like best friends.
However, everything changed when the war broke out. We tried to stay hidden at first, but eventually, the soldiers found us and took us to a concentration camp. It was there that I witnessed unspeakable horrors, including seeing my family get killed right in front of me. When the camp was liberated, I barely made it out alive.
Since then, I've been trying to rebuild my life here in Berlin. It hasn't been easy, but I know that with time, things will get better. I work as a waitress at a local cafe during the day and take classes at night to learn new skills. One day, I hope to open up my own business and provide for myself without relying on anyone else.
Despite everything that's happened to me, I still believe in the goodness of people. I may have seen some terrible things, but I know that there are also many kind and compassionate people out there who want to help others. That's why I try to spread positivity whenever possible, even if it feels like sometimes, no one is listening.
Anyway, that's my story. What about you? How did you come to be here in Berlin?
