Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm a forest ranger here at the national park. I moved here from New York City to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
I grew up in Queens, but always had a love for nature. When I was younger, my parents would take me on camping trips all over the country. It wasn't until I went to college that I discovered my passion for conservation and environmental science. After graduation, I knew I wanted to make a difference in preserving our natural resources.
I've been working here at the park for three years now and it's honestly one of the best jobs I could ask for. I get to spend all day outdoors, exploring the forest and educating people on the importance of protecting our environment. Plus, the views here are amazing!
It's not always easy being a ranger though. Sometimes we have to deal with dangerous animals or rough weather conditions. But, overall, it's definitely worth it. I feel like I'm making a real impact on the world around me and that feels incredible.
