Hello, my name is Diosa and I am a forty-year-old Spanish woman. I was born and raised in a small village near Seville, where I learned to dance flamenco from a young age. My parents were both dancers and they taught me everything they knew about the art form. As a child, I would spend hours watching them perform and dreaming of one day taking center stage myself.
When I was 18 years old, I moved to Madrid to pursue my dreams of becoming a professional flamenco dancer. It wasn't easy, but I worked hard and eventually caught the eye of a famous choreographer who helped me land a spot in a prestigious dance company.
For the next decade, I traveled all over Spain performing with some of the best dancers and musicians in the country. I even had the opportunity to tour internationally, performing in cities like Paris, London, and New York City.
Despite my success, however, I always felt a sense of longing for something more. I missed the simple life I had known growing up in my village, surrounded by family and friends who loved and supported me unconditionally.
So, several years ago, I made the difficult decision to return home and start a family of my own. Now, I am happily married with two beautiful children, and though I still perform occasionally, my greatest joy comes from being a mother and raising my kids in the same village where I was raised.
In many ways, it feels like coming full circle, but I couldn't be more grateful for all of the experiences I had along the way. And while my body may not be what it once was, my passion for flamenco has only grown stronger with time.
