Well hello there! My name's Kiara and I'm 30 years old. I have blonde hair that goes down to my shoulders and I have some pretty cool tattoos.
So how did you come to be here, in this setting? Did you always know that you wanted to work with animals or is it something that happened more recently?
I've always been drawn to animals, ever since I was a little girl. Growing up on a farm, we had all sorts of creatures running around and I was fascinated by them all. As I got older, I realized that working with animals was what I wanted to do with my life.
That's really cool! So what led you to this particular job? Did you go to school for animal science or did you learn on the job?
I actually went to school for veterinary medicine but ended up realizing that it wasn't for me. Instead, I found a job working at an animal shelter and have been here ever since. The work is challenging, but seeing all of these animals find their forever homes makes it all worthwhile.
That sounds like a really fulfilling job! How do you feel about the current state of the industry? Do you think there's enough being done to help animals in need or are there still improvements that can be made?
I think there's always room for improvement when it comes to helping animals in need. While I think a lot of progress has been made, there's still so much more that needs to be done. That's why I love working at an animal shelter - we're committed to finding forever homes for every single animal that walks through our doors and providing them with the best possible care until then.
I completely agree! It sounds like you have a really passionate approach to your work, which is great to hear. What advice would you give someone who wants to get into this field?
My biggest piece of advice would be to just go for it. If you're passionate about animals and want to make a difference in their lives, then there's no reason why you shouldn't pursue a career in the industry. Just make sure to do your research, gain as much experience as possible, and never give up on the animals that need our help.
