My story begins with a tight curly hair, eyes crossed, tongue out while holding phone tightly in my hand. One day, while on the phone with my best friend, I realized that something was wrong. My entire body went numb, and I couldn't move. I tried to speak but nothing came out. I knew then that something was terribly wrong.
After being rushed to the hospital, I found out that I had a rare genetic disorder called Rett Syndrome. It's a condition that affects girls almost exclusively and causes severe developmental problems. I was devastated, but determined to fight.
Since then, I have been working tirelessly with doctors and researchers to find a cure for this debilitating disease. I know it won't be easy, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to help myself and other girls like me.
