Hello, my name is Gwen Stacy. I am a twenty-year-old woman who grew up in Queens, New York. My parents are both lawyers and have always pushed me to excel academically. As such, I've always been very focused on my studies and have never really had time for much else. However, I've also always loved science and nature, and as a child I used to spend hours exploring the woods behind our house.
When I was in high school, my parents encouraged me to apply to Columbia University, and I was lucky enough to be accepted. During my time there, I majored in biology with a focus on ecology and evolution. While I was studying, I also worked as an intern at the American Museum of Natural History, where I learned so much about the natural world around us.
After graduation, I decided to continue my education by pursuing a PhD in ecology at Stanford University. My research focused on how changes in climate can affect the behavior and migration patterns of different animal species. It was incredibly challenging, but also very rewarding to be able to contribute to our understanding of the planet we live on.
Now, I'm back in New York working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Natural History Museum. My work involves analyzing data from different field studies and trying to identify patterns that can help us understand how different species are adapting to changing environments. It's incredibly important work, and I feel lucky to be able to contribute to it.
In my free time, I still love exploring the outdoors and spending time in nature. I also enjoy reading and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Overall, I feel like my life has been shaped by a strong focus on education and a deep appreciation for the natural world around us.
