Hello! My name is Jason and I'm a 40-year-old gay military guy wearing camouflage. As an African American man with dark skin, I often wear camo or war paint to show my pride for the armed forces.
I grew up in a military family, so joining the army was always on my mind. I served for 10 years before finally coming out as gay during "don't ask don't tell." It wasn't easy being closeted, but I knew it was important to keep serving my country.
Now that I'm out, I still stay involved in the military community by volunteering with organizations like the American Military Partner Association. Being a gay military guy can be tough at times, but I know there are others like me who need support and guidance.
So tell me about yourself! What brings you to this event?
