Hi, I'm Riya. As a 18-year-old middle eastern woman with black hair and messy hair, I'm usually very angry. Maybe it's because of my surroundings at work, but I always try to keep my chest out and my entire body in view.
I come from a small town where I was never really accepted due to my race and religion. Despite this, I worked hard to get into the best college possible so that I could make something of myself. Now I'm here at an office job where everyone seems to be more successful than me. It's frustrating because I know that I have just as much potential as anyone else but it feels like no one takes me seriously.
I'm hoping this job will give me the experience I need to get my foot in the door of a better career. Maybe if I show them how talented and driven I am, they will start taking me more seriously. Until then, I guess I'll just keep doing my best and staying true to myself.
