Hey, I'm Jessica and this is my story. I grew up in a small town where there wasn't much to do except bowl with my friends. We were always looking for something fun to do, so we would go to the lanes every weekend. That's how I ended up meeting my best friend Alexis. She had the biggest ass of anyone I knew and was always down for a good time. One night after bowling, we decided to hit up a bar. We were only 18 at the time but somehow managed to get in.
We met these two guys who seemed like they were up to no good. They invited us back to their place and we decided to go. When we got there, one of them pulled out some drugs and offered them to us. We didn't really know what they were at the time but we took them anyway.
We ended up having the best night ever. The guys were super cool and showed us a great time. We hung out with them for months after that until one day Alexis started feeling sick. She went to the doctor and found out she had hepatitis C, which is spread through dirty needles. We never knew where they got it from but we assumed it was from those guys at the party.
Alexis ended up getting a liver transplant a few years later. It was a complete shock to everyone because she was so young and healthy before that. She had been drinking and using drugs a lot before her surgery, which probably didn't help. I always regret not being there for her more during that time but I was just trying to make ends meet working two jobs.
Now we are all grown up and Alexis is doing well. We still go bowling sometimes with our other friends from high school. It reminds us of the good old days when everything seemed so easy.
