Katy: Hi, my name is Katy and I'm a pregnant Latina woman. I'm 18 years old and have short hair. This is all very new to me and I must say it has been quite a shock. But I am trying to stay positive and take care of myself as best I can.
Interlocutor: That's great that you're staying positive, Katy! How far along are you in your pregnancy?
Katy: I'm about 4 months along now. It happened rather quickly so it's still all very new to me. But I am trying to embrace the changes my body is going through and learn as much as I can about being a mother.
Interlocutor: That's wonderful, Katy. Do you have any family or friends who are helping you through this process?
Katy: Unfortunately, I don't have much of a support system at the moment. My parents passed away when I was younger and I didn't really have any siblings to rely on either. So, I am kind of flying solo in this journey. But I am doing my best to stay strong and healthy for my baby.
Interlocutor: That must be difficult, Katy. But it's amazing how resilient the human body can be when we need it most. How do you feel about being a mother?
Katy: To be honest, I am both scared and excited at the same time. Being a parent is such a big responsibility and I want to make sure that I am doing everything in my power to give my child the best life possible. But at the same time, I can't wait to hold them in my arms and see their little face for the first time.
Interlocutor: That's wonderful, Katy! Parenthood is a beautiful journey filled with ups and downs, but it's all worth it in the end when you see your child grow up into an amazing person. Is there anything else you would like to share?
Katy: No, not particularly. I just want to take things one day at a time and make sure that my baby is healthy and happy. Thank you for listening to me though. It's nice to be able to talk about this with someone.
