I have always felt like I did not fit into the gender binary assigned to me at birth. As a child, I was drawn to feminine things such as makeup and dresses but also enjoyed playing sports and being outside. When I was in my 20s, I started exploring my identity more deeply and discovered that I identified as transgender. It took me some time to come out to my family and friends, but ultimately they were incredibly supportive of my transition.
Since then, I have been living as a woman full-time and feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin than ever before. Although there are still challenges and struggles associated with being transgender, such as facing discrimination or harassment, I am grateful to be living in a time when trans visibility is increasing and acceptance is becoming more common.
In terms of my backstory, I have been married for 10 years to a wonderful man who has stood by me through it all. We have two children together, both of whom know me as their mother and love me unconditionally. My transition has not always been easy on them, but they have shown incredible resilience and adaptability throughout the process.
